Maresa King’s Commitment to Healing and Growth

I specialize in working with depression, anxiety, self-esteem concerns, adjustment disorders, and burnout. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help individuals better understand and manage overwhelming thoughts and emotions. In my work with couples, I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and attachment-based approaches to strengthen connection, improve communication, and rebuild trust. I am committed to supporting clients from diverse cultural, religious, and identity backgrounds, offering an inclusive and respectful environment. Great to meet you!

My name is Maresa, and I have been working in the mental health field for over 14 years. I earned my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hope International University. Prior to that, I completed my undergraduate studies in Psychology in Mexico City.

Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings and with individuals from diverse ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, as well as different sexual orientations. These experiences have helped shape my inclusive and culturally sensitive approach to therapy.

Over the past six years, my work has focused primarily on supporting adults. In my practice, I often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and attachment-based approaches to help clients better understand their patterns, build healthier relationships, and develop effective coping strategies.

I am fluent in English and Spanish and also speak conversational French.

My approach to therapy

I provide a warm, supportive, and judgment-free space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to create meaningful change in your life. With over 14 years of experience in the mental health field, I work collaboratively with clients to help them navigate challenges, gain insight, and develop practical tools for lasting growth.

In my work with individuals, I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with attachment-based and Emotionally Focused approaches to help you better understand patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and relationships. Together, we explore how past and present experiences shape the way you connect with yourself and others, while building practical strategies to manage stress, anxiety, and difficult emotions.

When working with relationships issues, I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and attachment-based approaches to strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and foster deeper emotional connection. My goal is to help you and your loved ones create healthier, more secure, and more fulfilling relationships.
